Baby Haircuts, Just For Fun

Once or twice in recent weeks, DH has mentioned the fact that baby boy has a few little hairs growing over the tops of his ears. He wants to trim them!

I've rejected this suggestion, but I'm wavering. (Don't tell DH.)

Here are the two sides of this, as I see it:

It seems that the first haircut is "supposed" to be a big milestone. And we are talking about 4-6 strands of hair -- not a big lock we could save between sheets of waxed paper the way my mom did mine. So he's not ready for that milestone, right?

or

Why not cut them? Who cares? It's just a few strands of hair. It's not a haircut. Not the official first one, if that really matters anyway.

Just for fun, I thought I'd put this out there. What do you think? I normally ask people to refrain from giving me advice and telling me what to do, but here's your chance! Should we cut those few little hairs or let them grow?

DH said he looks unkempt -- I'm pretty sure he's being dramatic, but I don't know. (He's not quite a metrosexual but does spend quite a bit of time grooming, so these things are important to him!) I said let the poor boy let it grow. If we decide to give him a traditional hairstyle as a little boy, he's got plenty of years of haircuts ahead of him.

So just for fun -- what say you?
